New paper: Detecting Academic Misconduct Using Learning Analytics

A new paper is out (I’m a bit late with this post) looking at typing patterns during writing and transcription tasks. The paper, published in the Journal of Learning Analytics, uses both keystroke logging and clickstream data to analyses typing patterns. We compare typing across three conditions: free writing of original text, transcription of the free writing task, and transcription of a provided academic text. This allows us to compare writing for when the text is the same (free writing vs self-transcription) and when the task is the same (self-transcription vs general transcription).
